Last week Anna's class went to our church to bag meals for Haiti. They studied about Haiti and the devastating earthquake that happened and talked about ways they could help. One of the teachers is a member of our church so the kids went and helped bag meals. Each bag they made was enough to feed six people in Haiti. It was such a great experience for all of them. They each had an assigned job and took their job very seriously. Anna was the sealer of the bag and got to use the "hot" machine. The students also did a coin drive in the school and raised over $2000.00. What a great "real-life" lesson taught to all these great second graders.
