We had such a fun Fourth of July yesterday despite the AWFUL weather. It was SOOO cold. We had planned to go to the pool for the day but with 70 degrees as the high for the day and NO sun, we chose to go to the movie instead. We went with neighbors to see Ice Age and it was actually really cute. The kids then took good naps to get ready for the long night of activities. We went to dinner at our friend's house. Scott was on call for the weekend but was able to go to dinner with us which was nice. John and Joan's house was full of kids excited for the fireworks. We had a great dinner at their house and left about 7:30 to go to Des Moines Golf for fireworks. The kids had a great time riding the rides and eating junk while we waited for it to get dark. The fireworks were FANTASTIC. We were home by 10:30 and they were all up before 7:00 today which proves my theory that the earlier you put your kids to bed the later they sleep. I'll have three VERY tired kids by tonight. I hope you all had a great Fourth of July.
Emily, Jake, Anna, Meredith and Whitney ready for some FUN!!!!
