Jake's Allergy Testing

Poor Jake had to have allergy testing done this morning. As many of you know, he has VERY severe food allergies and when we were in getting paperwork for preschool the doctor did the normal physical and noticed that his nose was completely sealed shut and swollen and said he wanted to do "seasonal" allergy testing. We went today and they "pricked" his back with 20 different things and guess what? He is allergic to 19 of the 20. Poor kid was VERY uncomfortable for the ten minutes he had to wait for the results to be read. He is now on a nasal spray once a day and she said when he gets older he will definitely benefit from allergy shots. Scott and I both had them as kids, so it was no surprise to us that he has so many allergies. He is highly allergic to dogs and cats, so sadly we won't be having any pets in the near future. HA!!! Is it OK to blame it on Jake's allergies and not on the fact that I don't like pet hair in my house. He is sleeping well tonight. The itchiness wore off after about an hour. It's been a tough week for my two little ones.
