Conference Championship Meet

Today the kids had their conference championship meet in Marshalltown.  It is the end of summer meet against the nine teams from our conference.  There were hundreds of swimmers at the meet and the kids had some great competition.  This was the last meet that Jake will get to swim in the 8 and under category so we were super excited that he WON the 25 breaststroke.  What a great way to end the season!!  His relay also won and he got sixth in his 25 free.  Anna got 1st and 2nd in her relays and then got two personal second place finishes and knocked off a TON of time!  Emily's relay got 2nd place and then she was in the top ten in her other two strokes.  She had a few personal best times as well.  Overall it was a GREAT day and everyone came home happy… even Molly who asked on event number 2 if we were almost ready to go home!!  The winners receive medals for 1st-3rd place so they were all happy to be able to be medal winners!!!   The kids have six weeks off and we are all looking forward to a little break but I know they will be happy to be back in the pool in September!!

SO sweet!!!

Here is Anna swimming the 50 back on her relay.  She is the one in the red cap.  She had her best time by 2 seconds!  This was a mixed heat with the 13-14 year olds so she was happy she was able to keep up with the older kids!!

Here is Anna swimming her 50 free. She is the third lane over in the red cap.  She got a 28.2 and was THRILLED!!  

Here is Anna in her 100 free.  She dropped almost 3 seconds off her best time.  She is the third one from the far end of the pool in the red cap.  She ends up getting second place.  One of the kids that out touches her was a boy and they combined girls and boys to make the meet go faster.
