We had a VERY busy weekend. Scott's parents came up for the weekend to watch the girls play soccer and to help us get some work done around the house. Scott planted a tree in the backyard and put in landscaping on the side of the house. He did all of this in between the girl's soccer games. Anna's game was at 10 in the morning and Emily's game was at 2:00. Could they have been more spread apart? It was a great day, a tad bit hot, but I know what we are in for as the season progresses, so I'll take hot over the alternative.
Anna played first and did AWESOME. She scored six goals and was quite the little star of the game. She played against her best friend, Sophie, which was fun. It was cute to watch them push each other out of the way to get the ball and then smile at each other and laugh.
This was Emily's first game, and for the first game, she did well. At least there were no tears. She spent most the time playing with her shirt and following the group of girls chasing the ball, but overall I think she had a good time. She did mention after the game that she thinks she'll play now when she is four, but when she turns five she doesn't think she wants to do soccer anymore. Physical activity doesn't seen to be her thing...smiles...
Overall, it was a great weekend. I was able to go to
Ames to visit a friend that moved. Four of us carpooled up to
Ames for a girl's night out and had a blast. Thanks so much to
Duaine and Inge for their help this weekend. We have a pretty low key week ahead, which will be nice after this busy weekend. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Anna and Sophie trying to get the ball. Too cute... They played on the same team last fall, so this was quite different for them.

.....White verus Green....

This is Anna's team. They have eight girls on a team and play 4 on 4. Their coach is great and they are really getting good at playing as a team. She LOVES soccer.

Jake and his best buddy, Nick, who is Sophie's brother, watched their sisters play against each other. Before I know it Jake and Nick will be playing against each other. You should see Jake kick a soccer ball. He
definitely has his daddy's athletic abilities.

Running really isn't her thing. Can you walk and play soccer? I LOVE THIS KID!!!

Emily's best buddies and our neighbors, Madeline and Maggie, played against each other in the game before ours, so we grabbed a quick picture before Emily started her game.
