Anna celebrated her 11th birthday on Friday. It isn't very often that your birthday falls on a weekend so we took advantage of the special day and had her party on her actual birthday. She invited nine girls to spend the night. She had her friend from birth, Sophie, three friends from Brookview and four friends from Maple Grove. I was nervous that with a mix of different groups of girls... it might be a lot of work to keep them entertained but they amazed me and were PERFECT!! When they arrived we took advantage of the aweome weather and played outside. We then had dinner, cupcakes and opened presents. Then... it was time for the moment Anna had been talking about for days. The BLIND makeovers. The girls got into groups of three and put makeup on each other. There were LOTS of giggles and Scott even went upstairs and put in his earplugs!!! The girls then watched a couple movies and then it was lights out around 11:30. They were all asleep at midnight which I thought was a huge success!!! It was a VERY special birthday for Anna and a reminder to me that she has such amazing friends. I told the girls that they were so good it made me want to let them do it again soon... who knows if that will happen but it was definitely a night Anna will remember for a LONG time.
