Molly Elizabeth Hamling entered the world on May 24, 2011 at 9:34 pm. She was 7 lbs. 13 oz. and was 20 inches long. Since the moment I found out I was pregnant, I have been dreading the delivery. Who likes to be in pain, right? I knew that in the end the delivery would be worth every second when I finally got to meet the precious gift inside my belly but I still couldn't stop the anxiety of not getting to the hospital on time or not getting my epideral. In the end all the worrying wasn't needed. I got to the hospital at 5:15, got my epideral by 6:00 and had her three and a half hours later. This was by far our scariest birth. Her head was positioned in a way that stopped her from descending so for three hours I sat at 6 cm waiting. Just as they were about to put the pitocin in, she decided that she didn't want any medication to help her and she descended VERY quickly. I had a contraction for four straight minutes. The looks on the doctor and nurses faces as they stared at the monitor trying to figure out what was happening was terrifying. All I wanted was for the contraction to STOP!!! Her heart rate was dropping as well but after three pushes and a tight umbilical cord removed from around her neck, she was in my arms and I instantly was in LOVE!!! The kids were THRILLED to meet her and have adjusted well to having a baby around the house. We have been home a few days and things are going well. My mom stayed with us until today which was a HUGE blessing. The girls have one more week of school and then the summer chaos will begin. I don't know if Molly knows what she is in for!!! I have a feeling this summer is going to fly. I'm trying to savor each moment and each of her adorable squeaks because I know before I know it she'll be as big as the older three!!!
We love you Molly and are blessed to have you in our family!!!!
