Anna qualified in all five of her best events for the State Swim Meet this weekend. She was SOOO excited to get to go to the "Big" meet. She did great. Her first relay got fourth and dropped TONS of time off their time. She was the "butterfly" leg of the race and swam her best butterfly of the season. It was a GREAT way to start the meet. Her 25 free and 50 free were good events for her. She had her best times ever at this particular pool so she was happy. She placed 7th in the 100 IM and had a really good time. She doesn't enjoy swimming the 100 IM so she was glad when it was over. Being able to swim all four stokes "legally" when you are eight is not easy, so the fact that she placed seventh in the entire state is a true accomplishment. Her last relay placed 2nd in the state. They were AWESOME!!! They missed 1st place by 2 tenths of a second. BUMMER!! Overall, she came home very happy and we are so proud of her!! She has her regional swim meet in a month in MN and is excited to stay the night in a hotel with all her swimming friends. Great job today, Anna. We are SOOO proud of you!!
The best part of qualifying for state when you are eight is that you get your name
on the team t-shirt!!!
Anna with one very proud and very pregnant mom!!!
The Girl State Qualifiers!!
They placed 2nd Overall in the entire state!! Way to go Dolphins!!!
Go, Anna, Go...

Anna with her swimming buddies. These five are going to rock the pool at Des Moines Golf this summer.
Anna, Sophie, Ingrid, Emma and Elizabeth!!

You can't ask for more than a happy kid!!!

She was FREEZING!!! Pools are kept "cold" for big meets like this because in theory... you swim faster in a cold pool!! I don't think the 8 and Under girls would agree. They'd rather have a warm pool!!
