Broken Arm Number 5!!!!!!!!!!

As I was sitting in the parent pick up line on Friday, the phone rang and it was Maple Grove School. When I answered it this kind lady told me she was the nurse and she had Anna in her office. She said she was in some pain and had fallen off the monkey bars!!! AHHHH!!! I knew instantly that if Anna was in pain, it was broken. She has the best pain tolerance so I knew if she was upset, it was probably bad. I gathered the kids in my carpool, shipped them off to other neighbors and headed to the ER. Of course Scott was out of town. His dad had surgery on Friday so he was in Omaha with his parents. I immediately called him and he called the hospital and started arranging things so they knew we were on our way. That is one of the perks of being married to a doctor!!! We spend two hours in the ER. (A huge thanks to Meg for taking Emily and Jake yet again!!!! You're the best!!!) They had to put Anna "under" with a medicine that made her really goofy. They were able to put the wrist back into place without her remembering it. She screamed and yelled, but doesn't remember it now. Thank God!!! Not something I enjoyed listening to or watching, but I couldn't leave her alone. We were home by seven. Scott ended up coming back since his dad was doing well. Anna is doing fine today. She is becoming quite a pro at all of this!! She has broken this arm four times now. I seriously think I will make her wear a supportive brace ALL THE TIME on this arm from now on!! She is in a cast to her shoulder for a week and then they will put on a water cast so she can continue with swim team. He said that of all her breaks, this is the best one so far. It shouldn't take too long to heal, which was good news to all of us. The last break was in a cast for 12 weeks!!! He thinks she should be out of this one in 4 or 5 weeks.

Oh, no! I saw your update on Facebook, but this is just horrible! No fun for mom, and no fun for her. Poor little thing.
