Today was the first day of school for Anna and Emily. Anna is a second grader and Emily started Kindergarten today. It was such an exciting morning. I was in the shower at 6:30 when in walked Emily fully dressed and ready for school. We usually don't get dressed before breakfast but she couldn't wait to get her outfit on for the day. It was too cute. I made her put a towel over her dress while she ate because we had waffles and syrup. I didn't want the first day of school dress to get messed up before the day started. Anna was excited too and got dressed early since sister was already dressed. We took Anna to school first and the rain was approaching so they quickly took the kids into the building so I only got one shot of her before she was rushed away. She had a great day and can't wait to go back tomorrow.
The Kindergartners start an hour late the first few days and get out a couple hours early to help ease their transition. She was so excited but the minute I took her picture with her teacher, she came running to me and grabbed on to my skirt and started to cry. I was prepared for tears because you never know with Emily. They only lasted a few seconds and she was fine once I reassured her that I would stay until her buddy Claire got to school. She had a great day and already has her outfit picked out for tomorrow. I wonder if she will show up in my room dressed again.
Jake and I kept busy. He was a trooper going to and from school four times today. We will do the process again tomorrow and on Friday Emily will go for the full day. I can't believe the summer has come to an end. My babies are growing up too fast.
