Anna's High School Swim Season

The first week of August when high school swimming started I noticed a yellow sticky note on Anna's bathroom mirror. I asked her why it was there and she said, "Those are my goals for High School swim season." I read them and inside I was thinking... she's crazy... but being a good mom, I said, "Anything is possible! I know you can do it." She stared at those goals every morning and every night for 3 straight months. Some of the goals she reached early in the season and a few she was still working towards this weekend. About an hour ago she brought the sticky note downstairs and said, "Remember this, Mom, I reached every goal!" One of her biggest goals was to podium in at least one event at state and she shocked us all by standing on the podium in all four of her events yesterday. I'm so proud of Anna and all her Waukee teammates. As a team of seven, they placed 6th in the state. I have a feeling it won't be long before I see another sticky note on her mirror with her goals for USA winter season. This time I won't think she's crazy! I think she knows what she's doing!
