Poor Molly has had quite the year!!!

Molly spent her year in Kindergarten with quite a few health scares and illnesses.  She missed well over 20 days of school.  She had a vision scare the middle of the year and lost color vision out of one of her eyes.  She was diagnosed with optic neuritis which is when you optic nerve swells and changes color and vision due to a viral infection.  It went away after three days but sure scared us!  She recently was diagnosed with scoliosis just like her older siblings and now wears a backbrace to keep her spine from curving.
A few weeks ago we found out she was allergic to red meat!  Poor kid broke out in hives and had a swollen tongue and lips.  She scared her mom a TON but luckily her calm dad came home just in time to calm us all down and we gave her a bunch of medicine to fight off the reaction and she was fine within two hours.  She had bloodwork done the next day to confirm the meat allergy.  She's one of 5 out of 1000 people in our allergy clinic with a meat allergy.
Due to her young age, her scoliosis doctor wanted to rule out anything medically wrong with her spine so he ordered and MRI!  She was SOOO good and was very still for the entire MRI.  The nurses said she was better than most their adult patients.  Sadly they found some fluid on her spine so they need to inject her with iodine for more images.  Poor kid had to be poked four times before they finally found a vein!  Luckily the neurologist in Iowa City said her spine looked fine and we should't worry about the fluid!  Hoping that her year of being a six year old is much healthier!!!
