Track

Anna had a month off from swimming so she decided to give track a try.  She's not used to being on her legs so she quickly had sore shins but kept working hard.  The coaches knew she was a swimmer and was in good shape so they often put her in the longer distance events.  Her first 1500 she got just under 7 minutes which to me was amazing!  Two meets later she had to run it again and was seeded as the "D" runner for her school.  She is one competitive child so I knew she was going to be out to show the coaches she wasn't a "D" runner.  She quickly passed the C and B runners on the first lap but I knew she had the A runner in sight and she was going to go after her!  Sure enough on the final turn she took off and passed the A runner from our team.  Needless to say, Anna was THRILLED.  She also got a 6:24 and dropped TONS of time!  I'm super proud of her for trying something outside her comfort zone.

I LOVE this picture!  The "A" runner is looking at her like- NO!!!!!!
