July 4th at the lake...

We had a great 4th of July at the lakes. The kids all swam. I even skied, which means it was really hot out... because it takes a REALLY hot day for me to get in the water. Anna tried to ski. She got up but leaned forward and fell. Scott had told her to let go of the rope if she fell, but we forgot that she is only 6 and we probably should have had her practice dropping the rope. So, she fell and didn't let go and got dragged through the water. I put the boat in reverse and she finally stopped, but was traumatized and wouldn't do it again. We are going to the lakes again this weekend and we're hoping to give it another try. This time Scott plans to sit in the boat and hold the rope so that if she starts to fall he can let go. We'll see how it goes.
The kids also got to go to their favorite place, Arnold's Park to ride the rides. They had a blast. Jake even went on the baby roller coaster. He loved it.
